TORINO, Italy, 20 May 2008

The one-day VISNET II Industry Day is an event being organized by the VISNET II Network of Excellence consortium: the purpose of this workshop is to explore possible future directions of new technologies being developed inside the project from the perspective of industrial applications.

Within VISNET II, two main application scenarios have been identified to guide the integration among the partners, in terms of harmonization of the research activities,  knowledge sharing and personnel exchanges. These two scenarios are:

·    Video surveillance
·    Virtual collaboration

Both scenarios are of great practical interest and may benefit from the introduction of new AV related technologies. As they involve processing of audiovisual data in a networked setting, they are also excellent application examples for the technologies developed in VISNET II.

This VISNET II Industry Day represents an opportunity for people coming from industries, solution providers, and integrators that work in the field of the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) to take a look at the future trends in these two scenarios and to discuss with researchers from VISNET II about technology exchange and transfer.

The event will take place in Torino, Italy, on May, the 20th 2008.
